Medicaid Protection Ending Soon!
Did you know that the National Public Health Emergency (PHE) is coming to an end on May 11, 2023? What that means for the Medicaid population is that income guidelines will revert to pre-PHE requirements and not all current Medicaid participants will keep their coverage. Therefore, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) will be conducting redeterminations for all individuals who received Medicaid coverage as of February 2020 through the PHE. Participants who are not found eligible through the redeterminations process will lose the coverage starting April 1, 2023. Visit Idaho Department of Health and Welfare today for more information and steps you can take to make sure you don't lose coverage.
Parent Satisfaction and Engagement Survey
March 2023
Dear Parents,
As a school district, we want to survey as many parents as possible to gain an understanding regarding how you feel about your child’s school. The parent survey for Idaho is an important part of our focus on serving, engaging, and partnering with parents in our district’s work. This survey gives you the chance to tell us how schools are doing in meeting your needs and assisting students in reaching their potential.
To access the survey:
-
Click on this Satisfaction & Engagement Survey Link to start the survey.
-
Pick your child’s school from the drop-down menu and complete the survey.
-
If you have students in different schools within our school district, you are welcome to submit a survey for each school.
The survey consists of about 10 questions and takes less than 5 minutes to complete. You can submit your survey through the end of this month. The window will close onMarch 31, 2023.
Your responses are anonymous and confidential. The results go to the state selected proctor, who in turn shares the outcomes with the schools.
We will use the survey responses to find ways to maximize satisfaction, engagement, and communication.
Thank you for taking part in the survey. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s principal.
Your participation will drive school improvement and student success.
Thank you,
**

School Safety - Social Media Threat
Dear Parents,
Earlier this afternoon, Preston High School was tagged in a social media post involving a threat of violence. Local law enforcement were made aware of the situation and have been in communication with the FBI. The FBI advised that similar threats have been happening across the nation. The account from which the threat originated has been reported and shut down. Social media representatives are working with law enforcement to identify the owner.
Although the FBI informed local law enforcement and district administration that the majority of these threats are not legitimate, we took precautionary measures and increased the law enforcement presence in and around all of our school buildings immediately upon learning of the threat.
While schools were not required to go into full lockdown, movement of students was limited for the remainder of the day and additional staff members were also posted at entrances and throughout the hallways. We are committed to providing our students a safe and healthy atmosphere where learning can take place. We will continue to be alert and proactive in keeping students safe. All schools will be open and regular schedules will resume tomorrow. Sincerely,
Dr. Lance Harrison, Superintendent of Schools
